Dr. Steven Stoica
Veterinarian
DVM
Hi, my name is Dr. Steven Stoica, and I am a Veterinarian at Pebble Maryland Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside the hospital, I am an avid athlete who enjoys competitive pickleball and powerlifting, and I hope to make my professional pickleball debut in 2027! I also enjoy traveling, discovering new restaurants, spending time outdoors with friends, and anything that brings out my competitive side, from board games to video games. Although I don't currently have a pet of my own, I look forward to welcoming a furry companion in the near future.
Why I Chose This Profession
I grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey, and I knew from the age of five that I wanted to become a veterinarian.
Education
I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed my clinical training at Tufts University.
Professional Background
I have a special interest in internal medicine, anesthesia, soft tissue and emergency surgery, and emergency care. I am USDA Category I accredited and Fear Free Elite Certified, and I have earned Platinum recognition through the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' Antibiotic Guardian program. I believe exceptional veterinary medicine combines advanced medical knowledge with genuine compassion, and I am committed to staying current with the latest advancements in veterinary care. I take pride in helping pet owners understand their options so they can make informed decisions. I know how stressful it can be when a beloved pet is sick, so I strive to provide thoughtful, individualized care in a supportive, low-stress environment.
Work History
Throughout my veterinary education, I gained valuable experience at several respected veterinary institutions, including the Animal Medical Center in New York City, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey, and Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island. My training also included physical rehabilitation, zoo animal medicine, general practice, and volunteer work providing veterinary care to underserved communities.
